Information Ole Makes may receive

When you browse OleMakes.com, the website and its hosting, security and analytics services may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, referring pages, requested pages, timestamps and cookies needed to operate, secure and improve the site.

If you contact Ole Makes directly, the information you choose to provide—such as your name, email address and message—may be retained so the inquiry can be answered and appropriate records can be kept.

Google and YouTube sign-in

Ole Makes uses Google/YouTube authorization to identify members who choose to sign in. The site requests read-only YouTube account access so it can identify the YouTube channel associated with the Google account you select. Ole Makes does not receive your Google password.

For membership verification, Ole Makes stores the YouTube Channel ID and channel name supplied through the authorization process in a signed browser cookie. That identity is compared with the current YouTube membership roster maintained by Ole Makes. The roster may contain a member name, YouTube Channel ID and current membership level.

The membership cookie is used to keep you recognized on OleMakes.com and to decide whether member-exclusive content may be shown or delivered. You can end the local member session by using the Sign out option on the Membership page.

How information is used

Information is used to operate and secure the website, respond to requests, diagnose technical problems, understand site usage, verify membership access, deliver protected member downloads and meet legal or administrative obligations.

Sharing, transfer and disclosure of Google user data

Ole Makes does not sell, rent or transfer Google user data to advertisers, data brokers, information resellers or other third parties for their independent use. Google user data obtained through Google/YouTube authorization is used only to provide and secure the Ole Makes membership-verification functionality described in this policy.

Google user data may be disclosed only when necessary to operate or secure the service; to service providers acting on behalf of Ole Makes and subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations; when required by applicable law; or with the user’s explicit consent. Google user data is not used for advertising, retargeting, determining creditworthiness, or training artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.

Protection of Google user data

Ole Makes uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect Google user data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. OleMakes.com uses HTTPS encryption to protect information transmitted between visitors and the website. Access to membership-related data and administrative functions is restricted to authorized administration, and member-exclusive downloads are protected by server-side authorization checks.

Ole Makes does not receive or store your Google password. Google authentication is performed by Google through OAuth.

Retention and deletion of Google user data

Ole Makes retains Google user data only for as long as needed to provide membership verification or until the user requests deletion, except where longer retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or another legitimate legal obligation. The membership system uses the YouTube Channel ID and channel information returned during authorization to verify the visitor against the current Ole Makes membership roster. Membership authorization information stored in the visitor’s browser is temporary and may be removed by signing out of OleMakes.com or clearing browser data.

You may revoke Ole Makes Membership’s access to your Google Account through your Google Account’s third-party connections settings. You may also request deletion of Google user data retained by Ole Makes by using the Ole Makes contact page linked below. Upon a valid deletion request, applicable Google user data retained by Ole Makes will be deleted unless retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or another legitimate legal obligation. Revoking authorization or requesting deletion does not cancel a paid YouTube membership; membership management remains with YouTube.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Ole Makes Membership’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Third-party services

YouTube membership purchasing, billing, renewals and cancellation are handled by YouTube/Google under their own policies and terms. Ole Makes does not directly process your YouTube membership payment information. Links to other websites or services are governed by those services’ own policies.

Cookies and caching

OleMakes.com may use cookies that are necessary for normal WordPress operation, security and membership access. The Ole Makes membership cookie is specifically used to distinguish an authenticated member session from an anonymous visit so protected content is not exposed through public page caching.

Supporter access

YouTube Membership Terms

Ole Makes membership is purchased and managed through YouTube. Current qualifying members may sign in to OleMakes.com with the Google account connected to the YouTube channel that holds the membership. Access depends on successful identity verification and a match with the current Ole Makes member roster.

Member-exclusive files are added as designs are created. Membership does not promise a fixed number of new files, a fixed release schedule, or that every Ole Makes project will include a downloadable file. Some member-exclusive designs may never appear in a YouTube video.

If a membership ends, protected member access and the ability to download member-exclusive files may end when the membership roster is next synchronized. Physical products you lawfully created while your membership was active remain eligible for sale under the Member File License below.

Using this website

Terms & Conditions

Ole Makes content is provided for educational and informational purposes. Woodworking, laser, CNC, 3D printing, home, garden, food and other projects can involve tools, equipment and conditions that require judgment and appropriate safety precautions. You are responsible for evaluating a project for your own tools, materials, abilities and circumstances and for following manufacturer instructions and applicable rules.

Measurements, settings, templates and other project information may require adjustment for your equipment or materials. Ole Makes does not guarantee that every project, file or technique will be suitable for every user or produce identical results.

You may not attempt to bypass membership authentication, protected-download controls or other access restrictions, nor may you use another person’s membership credentials or member session to obtain protected files.

Site content, branding, original designs and downloadable files remain the intellectual property of Ole Makes or their respective rights holders except where expressly stated otherwise. Permission to use a member file is a license, not a transfer of ownership or copyright.

Ole Makes Member File License

Unless a particular download states different terms, Ole Makes member-exclusive design files are licensed to the member who lawfully downloads them under these terms:

  • Personal use is allowed. You may use the design to make physical items for yourself, your household or as gifts.
  • Small-business commercial use is allowed. You may use the design to create physical products that you sell yourself, including at craft fairs, local markets, through direct sales and online.
  • Online attribution is required. When a physical product made from an Ole Makes design is offered for sale online, the product listing must include clear attribution such as “Design by Ole Makes” or “Created using an Ole Makes design.”
  • In-person attribution is not required. Physical items sold at craft fairs, markets or other in-person/direct transactions do not need an Ole Makes attribution label.
  • Digital redistribution is not allowed. You may not sell, share, give away, upload, sublicense or otherwise distribute an Ole Makes digital design file, whether original, converted, traced, edited or modified.
  • Membership does not transfer ownership. Ole Makes retains ownership and copyright in its original designs. Membership grants the permissions described here.
  • Existing physical inventory remains sellable. If your membership later ends, physical products you lawfully created while the membership was active may still be sold under these terms. Ending membership does not grant continued access to protected downloads.
